"Norwegian businesses appear to be less resistant to threats in the digital space," said the head of strategic cyber security at the National Security Authority (NSM), Bente Hoff, in April this year. She points out that NSM has coordinated the handling of major and more serious events than in the past year.

At the Norwegian Business Forum October 4, she will address the challenges and solutions related to cyber security seen with Norwegian eyes.

State Secretary Thor Kleppen from the Ministry of Justice will tell about the Norwegian government's strategy for ICT security, and Bjarte Malmedal from NorSIS will comment on how the culture in Norway is for cyber security.

Lars Idland, responsible for information security in Equinor (formerly known as Statoil), will talk about cyber security challenges in the oil and gas industry, while Hanne Tangen Nilsen, VP of Safety in Telenor Norway, will talk about Telenor's work on infrastructure security.

"Norway is one of the most digitized countries in the world, and as a company we have a central role in contributing to protection. But we cannot do it alone", she says.

And just cooperation and openness is the key to the international meeting that takes place in the days before the Norwegian Business Forum. 330 experts in ICT security from 54 countries meet to develop new (and revise existing) international standards for ICT security, a necessary contribution to the security of a world that is becoming increasingly digital.

The experts are members of the International Standardization Committee ISO / IEC JTC 1 / SC 27IT Security Techniques, and several of them will contribute to the Business Forum on October 4.
